PGCEDC Signs International MOU with State of Nuevo León, Mexico

 
 
 

Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation (PGCEDC) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of Nuevo León, Mexico, marking a significant milestone in international partnership and global economic cooperation.

The MOU was signed by Ebony Stocks, interim President & CEO of PGCEDC, and Emmanual Loo, Undersecretary of Foreign Direct Investment in Nuevo Leon, to formalize the agreement aimed at promoting mutual investment, trade opportunities, and shared innovation in advanced manufacturing, logistics, data infrastructure, and sustainable development. Also, in attendance were Martin Ezemma, Director of International Business at PGCEDC, Jose Burnes, PGCEDC Business Development Manager for Manufacturing, Warehousing & Data Centers

Procurement 360: Targeting Opportunities Series

 
 

Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation (PGCEDC) proudly hosted the first installment of its new Procurement 360: Targeting Opportunities series on July 22, 2025, at the City of College Park Council Chambers. Drawing over 100 local entrepreneurs, business owners, and government procurement professionals, the event marked a powerful beginning to a timely and impactful initiative aimed at demystifying procurement and opening pathways for local businesses to thrive.

“Procurement 360 was created to give our business community an immersive view of how to navigate and succeed in the government contracting landscape,” said Kimberlee Andrews, Business Development Director for the Government Sector at PGCEDC. “To see such strong participation and engagement from both vendors and agency partners at the kickoff confirms the need for these conversations and connections.”

Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation Honored to Host Successful Federal Professionals’ Entrepreneurship Fair at Bowie State University

 
 

The Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (PGCEDC), in partnership with Employ Prince George's, FSC First and Bowie State University, hosted more than 150 transitioning federal professionals and newly retired government employees at the Federal Professionals' Entrepreneurship Fair on July 16, 2025, at Bowie State University's Martin Luther King, Jr. Center. The event provided participants with expert business guidance, access to vital resources, and valuable networking opportunities.

Federal professionals—including recent retirees, agency departures, and former contractors—participated in large numbers. Many attendees had already begun taking steps toward business formation in high-growth sectors such as information technology, professional services, and consulting. PGCEDC estimates that over 60% of attendees left with actionable follow-up plans and resource commitments.

International Companies Return to Tour ISBI after SelectUSA 2025

 
 

A group of international companies returned to visit EDC's Innovation Station Business Incubator (ISBI) following the May 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. The tour was hosted by Alicia Moran, Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, to provide the visiting companies with deeper insight into the business opportunities available in Prince George’s County.

During the tour, the companies had the opportunity to meet with current ISBI tenants and see firsthand how the incubator supports early-stage growth in key sectors, including tech, health, and government contracting. The visit offered a glimpse into the County’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and highlighted the strategic advantages of locating in Prince George’s County.

From its proximity to the nation’s capital to its commitment to inclusive innovation, Prince George’s County continues to attract global interest as a premier destination for investment and expansion.

 
 

Maryland Secretary of Commerce The Honorable Harry Coker, Jr. Tours Prince George’s County for Full-Day Economic Engagement

 
 

Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation (PGCEDC) proudly hosted Maryland Secretary of Commerce Harry Coker, Jr., for a dynamic full-day tour spotlighting the County’s economic vitality, business innovation, and regional competitiveness. Secretary Coker was joined by key members of the Maryland Department of Commerce, Prince George’s County leadership, and economic development stakeholders on a curated tour that showcased the region’s diverse business ecosystem.

The day began with a breakfast roundtable at the Silver Diner at National Harbor, featuring welcoming remarks by Prince George's County Executive Aisha Braveboy and PGCEDC Interim President & CEO Ebony Stocks, CEcD. The breakfast provided a platform for cross-sector leaders to highlight local business successes, state-local collaboration, and equitable growth strategies.

“We were honored to welcome Secretary Coker and his team to experience the strength, diversity, and promise of Prince George’s County,” said Ebony Stocks, Interim President & CEO of PGCEDC. “This tour underscores the County’s position as a premier destination for business, technology, life sciences, and cultural experiences. On June 26th, the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation proudly celebrated the accomplishments of our Step Forward Cohort during a dynamic Matchmaking & Graduation event.

Hosted by PGCEDC’s Alicia Moran, Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, the event celebrated the hard work and dedication of participants in a program led by Andre Plummer, PGCEDC’s Financial Services Program Manager. Interim President & CEO Ebony P. Stocks was present to personally congratulate each graduate as they received their certificates, marking the successful completion of their entrepreneurial journey through the Step Forward program.

More than a milestone, this event was a launchpad for opportunity—connecting graduates with capital providers, resource partners, and a growing network of local entrepreneurs. We’re proud to support these women-owned businesses as they continue to grow, scale, and succeed right here in Prince George’s County.
