International Travel Company lands in Prince George's County
Yesterday, the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) welcomed another successful company into its India Business Center as Cheap World Tours, Inc. (CWT) opened its first office in the United States. Joined by international business development executives from the EDC, and local hospitality industry leaders, EDC President and CEO Jim Coleman and EDC Executive Vice-President Dr. Pradeep Ganguly celebrated this new addition to the business accelerator with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and words of support.
'Ambassadors of Hope' share opportunities and options with veteran community
For the second year in a row, the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Workforce Services Division opened the windows of opportunity to local Veterans at its Veterans Jobs and Resource Fair at Dave and Buster's yesterday. More than 200 Veterans were introduced to 80 private sector employment and resource partners ready to provide them with game-changing career opportunities. Walter Simmons, Executive Director of the EDC's Workforce Services Division, and James Rzepkowski, Assistant Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) kicked off the day with encouraging words to the Veterans and the employers.

Yesterday, the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation's President and CEO Jim Coleman was among the featured speakers participating in National Disability Employment Awareness Month at The Arc of Prince George's County's 2nd Annual 'Inclusion Works' Breakfast. Robert Malone, Executive Director of The Arc Prince George's County, Jim Estepp, Director of Operations of The Greater Prince George's Business Roundtable, along with top executives from Comcast NBCUniversal and the Federal Communications Commission were also in attendance to celebrate the important role individuals with disabilities play in workforce diversity.

Job Fair Connects More Than 70 County Residents With Employment Opportunities
his morning, more than 100 bilingual job seekers came out to the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to participate in its first 'Bilingual Latino Job Fair and none were disappointed. Residents looking for access to well-paying job opportunities met with more than 30 employer partners, all of whom had immediate needs for positions to be filled. Of the 100 job seekers in attendance, more than 70% left with multiple job offers. EDC President and CEO Jim Coleman and Workforce Development Director Walter Simmons were joined by County Council Member Deni Taveras (Dist. 2), and Daisy Rickert, County Executive Rushern L. Baker's Latino Affairs Liaison who came out to encourage and support the Job Fair attendees.
