Personal Services E-Business Grant

As a result of the Relief Act of 2021, an appropriation of funds has been made available to the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund (“MEDAAF”) to be used to provide grants to businesses and assist in setting up an online sales framework.

The Department of Commerce has awarded Prince George’s County $749,000 for distribution to eligible grantees for the Online Sales Assistance Grant. This program will provide grants of $5,000 to Prince George’s County-based personal services businesses to support increased foot traffic to brick and mortar establishments, improvements to point of sale technology and cross channel functionality.


 

Restaurant Assistance Grant

Through the Maryland Relief Act of 2021, an appropriation of $2.9 million has been made available to assist restaurants and food service establishments that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Restaurant Assistance Grant will provide $12,000 Grants to Prince George’s County-based restaurants and food establishments to promote long-term sustainability and resiliency of businesses operations, support COVID-19 safety measures, and support businesses operating at reduced capacity.

Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received prior relief funding through the Maryland Department of Commerce (MEDAAF and COVID-19 Small Business Emergency Loan or Grant Program). Fifteen percent of Grant Funds will be awarded to businesses that are in a targeted economic status.

Applications will be accepted between May 4, 2021 and May 21, 2021.


 

Child Care Provider Recovery Program

*PROGRAM CLOSED* The Child Care Provider Recovery Program provided grants to child care centers that had to close their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many child care programs in the County had to close its doors due to lack of revenue and newly established state and local health and safety guidelines.  Unfortunately, these closures resulted in a substantial decrease in the number of available, quality child care seats for Prince George’s County families. 

Child Care providers in Prince George’s County had the opportunity to apply for grants to cover reopening expenses through the Child Care Provider Recovery Program.  Eligible child care providers received a grant up to $20,000 for licensed child care centers and up to $3,000 for registered family child care homes.


COVID19 Business Recovery Initiative

*PROGRAM CLOSED* The Prince George’s County COVID19 Business Recovery Initiative (Formerly Relief Fund) was a $20 million program that offered grants to provide working capital for small County-based businesses whose operations had been interrupted due to COVID -19. Grant assistance provided up to $100,000 for businesses. Applicants must meet eligibility guidelines and provide evidence of financial disruption due to the COVID-19 crisis.

 

Hotel Resiliency Relief Fund

*PROGRAM CLOSED* County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced an appropriation of $11 million to assist accommodation properties that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 Hotel Resiliency Relief Fund will provide grants up to $190,339.98 to Prince George’s County-based hotels to promote long-term sustainability and resiliency for business operations, supporting COVID-19 safety measures, and maintaining business operations at a reduced capacity.

Applications will be accepted starting January 27, 2021 until February 24, 2021.


Restaurant Resiliency Fund

*PROGRAM CLOSED* County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced an additional appropriation of $3.3 million to assist restaurants and foodservice establishments that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Restaurant Resiliency Fund provided grants up to $25,000 to Prince George’s County-based restaurants and food establishments to promote long-term sustainability and resiliency of business operations, support COVID-19 safety measures, and support operating at reduced capacity.
