Brandywine, MD - Commuters traveling on U.S. 301 in Brandywine will soon have a new place to stop and shop. Yesterday marked the beginning of a dream realized for 83 year old Mani Patel, the CEO of TripleStone Real Estate as he broke ground on a $50 million, 17-acre development in Brandywine, Maryland. County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, EDC President and CEO Jim Coleman and District 9 County Councilmember Mel Franklin joined the TripleStone Team, investors and well-wishers at the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Cadillac Crossing, a mixed use development that will include a retail center, grocery store, a 4-star hotel and medical center when it is fully operational.
"Every part of Prince George's County is growing," said Baker. "This type of development is an important addition to the County because it demonstrates the type of resurgence that is taking place throughout the 500 square miles of Prince George's County. We are grateful to the Patel family for bringing this project to Brandywine and we look forward to even more growth here in South County."
In recent years, more and more projects of this magnitude have come to Brandywine and the community is reaping the benefits. The first phase of Cadillac Crossing, which is scheduled for completion in September 2017, will include a retail center anchored by Chipotle, Verizon, Sparenity Nail Salon and a Hibachi Grill. The second phase, expected to begin immediately after the completion of the first phase, on the site of the old Cadillac Motel and will add more retail, a Lidl grocery and office building. Phases three and four will include a 125 room 4 star hotel and a 10,000 square feet medical center. Once the project is fully operational, it is expected to employ more than 400 workers and to support an additional 400 workers through its ancillary supply service needs. President and CEO Jim Coleman is excited about the development that is taking place in Prince George's County.

From College Park to Brandywine, development projects like Cadillac Crossing are rising up and kicking up quite a bit of dust in the process. His Administration has worked hard to bring all of the key elements for economic growth together and Cadillac Crossing is bearing the fruit of his labor today. In homage to the old Cadillac Motel on U.S. 301, which Mani Patel purchased in 1976, developer TripleStone Real Estate aptly chose 'Cadillac Crossing' as the name for its flagship property. With an estimated 85,000 cars per day traveling along U.S. 301, executives at TripleStone gaze out over their 17 acres with a combination of happiness, pride and awe as their vision for the future comes to life.
