EDC President & CEO Jim Coleman Speaks At Maryland Building Industry Association Prince George's County Breakfast

Jim Coleman, President & CEO of the EDC, addresses members of the Prince George's County Chapter of the Maryland Building Industry AssociationGreenbelt, MD, March 28, 2016 - This morning, the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) President & CEO, Jim Coleman, served as a Keynote Speaker for the Maryland Building Industry Association's (MBIA) Prince George's County Chapter Breakfast at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD. Over 100 people attended the breakfast which focused on highlighting the importance of professionals with different interests working together to build a better Prince George's County.

Mr. Coleman provided an overview of the many projects that the EDC is involved in that directly affect the building industry and how the EDC has been a resource to ensure that current projects are able to be completed.

"While we have had our economic victories in Prince George's County in recent years, this is the time to continue to push for economic growth in all of our industries," said Mr. Coleman. "The EDC attends conferences and summits all over the world to bring County developers the best clients and resources for their projects. Retailers from around the globe attend these conferences and summits looking for new and profitable ways to distribute their goods and services to a wider market. We take our business community with us [virtually] by sharing sites and projects that would be a great match with what the retailers are looking to achieve. Having a close relationship with the building community is a key component of our sales pitch for these projects."
