Economic Development Corporation Assists Leading European Retailer To Open First Maryland Stores In Prince George's County

Proctor and Associates; Bellur Ravishankar, Associate Director, DPIE)Largo, MD, February 5, 2016 - Yesterday, Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jim Coleman, along with senior staff from the County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) met with top executives from Lidl U.S., LLC to discuss the construction of more than 15 new 40,000 sq. ft. grocery stores in Prince George's County by 2018. With the opening of these grocery stores, including one store in each councilmanic district, Lidl makes its Maryland debut in Prince George's County. This $100 million construction investment is expected to bring more than 700 new jobs to the County.
