Prince George's County Works & Plays With the MD Building Industry Association

The Prince George's County Economic Development was delighted to support the efforts of the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) at their networking mixer on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Copper Canyon Grill at the Woodmore Towne Centre of Glenarden. MBIA operates with the mission to advocate for the building industry and to maximize business opportunities for its members. The County's presence at the networking mixer solidified the joint effort to become a more influential advocate in the building and development communities.

EDC President Jim Coleman touted the successes in the pipeline of development in Prince George's County, including a new $700 million regional hospital; a $1.3 billion new casino and luxury hotel and rapid transit developments at five out of 15 Metro stations that will offer luxury housing and high-end retail shopping.

"It is an asset for the County to have an organization like MBIA advocating for the industry," said EDC President Jim Coleman. "In supporting MBIA's efforts, the EDC is connecting its members to the $10 billion pipeline development opportunities in Prince George's County, and providing additional resources for their existing projects."
