Community Has Faith in Economic Development in Prince George's County

EDC President Jim Coleman was the guest speaker at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCOG) on Friday, October 9, 2015, for the Christian Business Institute's monthly meeting. Mr. Coleman spoke fervently to local business owners about how the EDC is facilitating the attraction, retention and expansion of major employers using tools such as: the County's $50 million Economic Development Incentive Fund; the "We Care" and "Operation 535" EDC initiatives; tax and financial incentives; and EDC's workforce development and training programs.

"Put your trust in the EDC, and we'll make you famous," said EDC President Jim Coleman. "It's my personal mission and the mission of my staff to promote your business. As we embark on one of our initiatives, "Operation 535", we are marching through the trenches to attract businesses from the District and Virginia. If Prince George's County is famous, we all are famous!"

The Christian Business Institute (CIB), a ministry in FBCOG, is dedicated to helping individuals learn to conduct an ethical Christian business that is financially sound and based on biblical principles. The CIB mission is to foster opportunities for businesses that will enable them to network and provide economic growth with an emphasis on four core components: Training and Education, Business Expo, Business Directory, and Public Relations.
