Laurel Regional Workforce Services Center Open House

Largo, MD – On September 27, 2012, the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation’s Workforce Services Division, along with the Office of the County Executive, will celebrate the official opening of the Laurel Regional Workforce Center, located at 312 Marshall Avenue, Laurel, MD.

The regional workforce center services job seekers and employers in multiple counties. The Laurel Regional Workforce Center (LRWC) is unique in that it offers comprehensive workforce development programs, services, and solutions for job seekers and the regional business community in one location for four counties – Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s. By co-locating and integrating employment, training, and education services for job seekers, workers, and employers, the LRWC brings to fruition the State and Federal strategic regional workforce initiative – cross-planning between programs resulting in waste elimination, improved program alignment, seamless comprehensive services, and ultimately better customer outcomes.

The economic well-being of the region is enhanced by developing and maintaining a quality workforce that goes hand-in-hand with Department of Labor’s Credential Attainment efforts.

“This regional workforce initiative is critical to Prince George’s County and our entire region,” said County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. “We must work together to strengthen our workforce with the skills that many companies are looking for when they decide whether to locate in a particular region. It serves our workforce and our regional business community.”

The Open House will include a combination of a press conference, ribbon cutting, and tours for special guests, media and the public.
