Startup Maryland Will Be Rolling Through Prince George’s County

Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Startup Maryland’s Pitch Across Maryland, a statewide entrepreneurship tour and business pitch competition, will be rolling through Prince George’s County. On September 24, 2012, the tour bus will travel to National Harbor, giving Prince George’s County entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their ideas aboard the Startup Maryland bus between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Pitch Across Maryland, in collaboration with the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, will hold a rally celebrating startups and giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to network and possibly land a spot at a statewide business competition. During the rally, the entrepreneurs and other business owners will learn about the resources available to them from representatives of the Prince George’s County EDC, the County Executive’s economic development team, the Minority Business Development Division, FSC First Bank and representatives from other state agencies. Additionally, entrepreneurs will receive coaching and support from business mentors and other leaders of Maryland’s innovation ecosystem.

Prince George’s County entrepreneurs are invited to promote their business in the Pitch Across Maryland contest.  Business pitches will be videotaped during the National Harbor rally. After the rally, videos will be uploaded and open to public voting.

“We are pleased that Startup Maryland will give our entrepreneurs the opportunity to create stronger connections in the state’s business development communities. We anticipate that this tour will introduce our to new resources and provide them with the guidance they need to be successful,” said EDC President/CEO Gwen McCall.
