Team will discuss the EDI Fund and its application process..

As part of his FY 2012 Proposed Operating and Capital Budget, Baker sought and received County Council approval for a one-time investment of $50 million to be set aside as a multi-year commitment for the EDIF, with $7 million earmarked for FY 2012. The goals of the EDIF are: expansion of the County’s commercial tax base, promotion of major development and redevelopment opportunities, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), job retention and attraction, and growth of key industry sectors.

“I proposed the EDI fund to support and grow small businesses in Prince George’s County,” said Baker. “With this tool, we will be able to grow our economy, provide jobs for our residents, and increase our tax base to pay for valuable services.”
