On December 11, 2003, Hon. Edward D. Singhatey, Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Employment, Hon. Baboucarr-Blaise Ismaila Jagne, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and ranking department officials arrived in Prince George’s County (after attending the AGOA meetings in Washington. DC) to offer an official invitation to Prince George’s County businesses to trade with The Gambia. More than a dozen county businesses; EDC Board members; NCMBOC; members of EDC's International Business Strategy Committee; Prince George’s County, State of Maryland and Congressional officials; and EDC staff participated in this briefing session. County businesses engaged in one-on-one trade talks with Gambian officials on the following day.
These meetings were hosted by the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation and the Berrin Group, LLC; and sponsored by Riggs National Bank, N.A.
Before returning to The Gambia, members of the Officlal Delegation from The Republic of The Gambia and The Embassy of The Republic of The Gambia pause for a photo opportunity with EDC Board members, members of the International Strategy Committee and EDC staff.
