About the EDC

Under authority of the County Executive, the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), provides: the right combination of investment incentives to attract new businesses; access to support services and capital to help businesses grow; and information on procurement opportunities to enable businesses to sustain their growth. The EDC is committed to promoting economic development, expanding business opportunities, and providing assistance to businesses interested in locating their principal office or base of operations in Prince George’s County.

Working closely with major public and private entities, EDC assists existing companies to identify possible sites for expansion or relocation; facilitates access to various state and county financing and workforce programs; and provides related assistance to help companies succeed. EDC also connects clients to several business incentive programs provided by county, state and federal agencies. Through its staff and consultants from the Small Business Initiative Program, it provides management and technical assistance services for small and minority businesses.

In a continuing effort to create opportunities for County businesses, EDC works closely with: county agencies, the Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), private companies, and other state and federal entities to build mutually beneficial relationships between contractors and businesses.
